DEVOTIONAL 1
These are uncertain times. There is much being said. There are many questions being asked. We certainly understand the need for all of it.
Our hope at ChurchOne during this time is to be a resource to you. We want to do that by reminding us that Jesus is the “same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
For now, due to the request for social distancing, we will not be able to gather corporately. But we can still collectively turn our hearts and minds to Jesus.
Julie and Mike Canlis in their study Godspeed offer a simple spiritual practice that can be a helpful centering exercise. We would like to offer that exercise to you.
John 16:33 New International Version (NIV)
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
When you have a chance, read the passage above one time. Is there a word or phrase that stands out to you?
Read it a second time, and think about how this passage intersects with your life. Ask yourself, why am I drawn to this word? What in my life needs to be met from this word?
Now read it a third time. Listen again for your deepest response. Ask yourself, through this Scripture, is there a good desire dwelling within me?
We pray that the presence of Jesus grows stronger and stronger for you.
God bless.
